Model / Company Creation

From thesis to operating company.

BLACK& treats company creation as a gated operating process in which each stage produces evidence required for the next decision.

1–3. Thesis, validation and market

The initial intelligence thesis defines the structural opportunity. Validation tests need, timing and disconfirming evidence. Market definition identifies users, alternatives, buying conditions and constraints.

4–6. Business model, architecture and formation

The business model defines value exchange and economics. Product architecture establishes capability and system boundaries. Legal formation follows only after ownership, jurisdiction and governance are reviewed.

7–9. Leadership, capital and market entry

Leadership requirements are defined before appointments. Initial capital is tied to milestones and risk. Market entry is planned around a narrow validated use case rather than an unsupported broad launch.

10–13. Support, governance, scaling and outcome

Operating support provides shared capability. Governance establishes accountability. Scaling follows evidence of repeatability. Long-term ownership or another strategic outcome is reviewed against enterprise resilience and stakeholder value.

Decision gates

Every stage should identify objective, inputs, output, decision owner, evidence standard and stop condition. The process is designed to preserve capital and attention when evidence weakens.
